As a Principal and Senior Consulting Actuary, Kelly Grebinsky utilizes his 20-plus years of experience to lead strategic client discussions and guide the development of health and welfare benefit programs. His current and former clients include Fortune 100 employers, Taft-Hartley trusts, multiple-employer trusts and insurance carriers. His expertise covers strategic health program planning, complex pricing for active and retiree populations, development and measurement of wellness and care management programs, health benefit financial reporting, and data warehouse development and analysis.
Prior to Actuaries Northwest, Kelly spent six years with SHPS in their Strategic Healthcare consulting division as a Senior Consultant, with responsibilities including client management, strategic benefit program development, benefit plan pricing and risk management, claim cost analytic tool development, and care management program measurement and reporting.
Prior to SHPS, Kelly performed chief actuarial duties in pricing and financial analysis with Kaiser Permanente in California from 1996 to 1999. Responsibilities encompassed large group, small group, and individual plan pricing and financial performance, as well as Medicare HMO and other government programs.
Before Kaiser Permanente, Kelly performed pricing, underwriting and financial reporting responsibilities at North American Life Assurance Company and The Cooperator’s Life Insurance Company in Canada from 1989 – 1996.
Kelly graduated cum laude from the University of Manitoba, majoring in Business and Actuarial Sciences. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries.
Michael is a Consulting Actuary in the Issaquah office of Actuaries Northwest. He joined the firm in 2010. Michael’s areas of knowledge include health plan development and pricing, experience analysis, forecasting and reserve pricing, product strategy and improvements in addition to financial modeling and reporting.
Prior to joining Actuaries Northwest, Michael spent three years with Towers Watson in their Defined Benefit Retirement division. Working as an Actuarial Analyst, Michael's responsibilities included developing financial liability reports, budgets and investment risk portfolios as well as pension benefits pricing and analytical tool development.
Before Towers Watson, Michael performed pricing, underwriting and financial reporting responsibilities at Mercer Consulting in New York from 2006 - 2007. Responsibilities encompassed large group, small group, and individual plan pricing and financial performance, as well as HMO pricing renewal negotiations.
Prior to starting his actuarial career, Michael volunteered with the Peace Corps teaching math and physics in West Africa.
Michael graduated from Western Washington University with a BS in Applied Mathematics. He also received a graduate certificate in Financial Engineering from Columbia University. He is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries. He is in the process of earning an FSA with the Society of Actuaries.
Nate is a Senior Actuarial Analyst in the Issaquah office of Actuaries Northwest. His primary responsibilities include translating vendor data for financial and performance analyses, financial reporting, assistance in the development of pricing and projection models, preparing and reviewing retiree health valuations, and preparing Medicare Part D attestation reports.
In his sixteenth year as part of the Actuaries Northwest team, Nate continues to develop his skills as an Actuarial Candidate, passing five professional exams on the path to Associate accreditation.
Prior to joining Actuaries Northwest, Nate worked briefly as a Land Surveying Technician while studying for the Actuarial Exams, and also spent some time in Japan teaching English.
Nate is a graduate of the University of Washington, with a major in linguistics and a minor in physics. He has successfully completed five actuarial exams.
Ember is an Actuary in the Issaquah office of Actuaries Northwest. Her primary responsibilities include data management and analysis, group underwriting, and preparation of retiree liability reports.
Prior to joining Actuaries Northwest, Ember worked as the General Ledger Accountant at Cornish College of the Arts while passing actuarial exams. Ember was the Artistic Director for Hydeware Theater when living in St. Louis, MO while also working as the Senior Accounting Assistant in the Neurosurgery department at Washington University in St. Louis.
Ember is a graduate of Simpson College with a major in theatre arts and a minor in mathematics. She is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries.
